Professor Sycamore will let you choose between three Kanto starter Pokemon, and he will also give you the corresponding Mega Stone. 

The good news is, you can obtain them all later in the game. Upon arriving at Lumiose City, go to Vernal Avenue and look for the Stone Emporium.

The Mega Stone for your chosen Pokemon’s counter will be for sale. After beating the Pokemon League, the third starter’s Mega Stone will be available in the same location.

Name	Exclusive to	How to Obtain
Charizardite X	Pokemon X	It is given to you by Professor Sycamore when you choose Charmander from him. This stone lets Charizard mega-evolve into his iconic blue flames version.
Charizardite Y	Pokemon Y	It is given to you by Professor Sycamore when you choose Charmander from the Kanto starters. This will allow Charizard to Mega Evolve to Charizard Y.
Blastoisinite	Pokemon X and Y	You can obtain this Mega Stone from Professor Sycamore when you choose Squirtle. Also obtainable from the Stone Emporium at Lumiose City.
Venusaurite	Pokemon X and Y	Obtained by choosing Bulbasaur from the three Kanto starters given by Professor Sycamore. This can also be bought from the Stone Emporium at Lumiose City.

Obtainable Mega Stones BEFORE Post-Game

Abomasite	Pokemon X and Y	This Mega Stone is found in the Frost Cavern. After defeating Team Flare, talk to the Abomasnow you rescued and you will get an Abomasite.
Ampharosite	Pokemon X and Y	Go to Azure Bay just beneath the Sea Spirit’s Den and talk to an old man beside a Fisherman and he will give you the Ampharosite.
Gengarite	Pokemon X and Y	Go to Laverre City and talk to a woman with black hair located on the upper-left side of the city and she will give you this Mega Stone.
Aerodactylite	Pokemon X and Y	Go to the Fossil Lab located in Ambrette Town after the Glittering Cave and talk to the scientist on the right to obtain this Mega Stone.

Mega Stones Obtainable Post-Game

These Mega Stones can only be obtained after you defeat the game. This means you need to become the Champion of Kalos first:

Absolite	Pokemon X and Y	To get an Absolite, defeat your rival post-game in Kiloude City and they will give you this Mega Stone.
Mewtwonite X	Pokemon X	After catching Mewtwo in the Unknown Dungeon, a Mewtonite X will fall to the ground
Mewtwonite Y	Pokemon Y	After catching Mewtwo in the Unknown Dungeon, a Mewtonite Y will fall to the ground.
Gardevoirite	Pokemon X and Y	After becoming Champion, go to Cafe Soleil in Lumiose City where you and Diantha first met, and she will trade you a Ralts that’s holding a Gardevoirite.

Mega Stones That Can Only Be Found at Night

Before you can continue your hunt for these Mega Stones, you need to power up your Mega Ring. Here’s how:

1. Become the Kalos Champion
2. Go to the Lumiose Station in Lumiose City and use the train to get to Kiloude City.
3. Finish at least one battle at the Battle Maison.
4. Defeat your rival again in Kiloude City.
5. Talk to Professor Sycamore at the Anistar City Sundial.

Once your Mega Ring has been powered up, you can set your 3DS clock to 8 PM and 9 PM, or 20:00 and 21:00 as they only appear during these hours in the game.

Alakazite	Pokemon X and Y	This can be found in the Reflection Cave at the spot where you thought a Legendary Pokemon was supposed to appear.
Aggronite	Pokemon Y	Go back to the Cyllage City gym and head to the second level to the right to find an Aggronite.
Banettite	Pokemon X and Y	This Mega Stone can be found at the Chamber of Emptiness.
Garchompite	Pokemon X and Y	Found near a small tower at Victory Road. Head west from where you fought your rival and use Rock Smash to reach this area.
Gyaradosite	Pokemon X and Y	Go to the southeast of Couriway Town in an area with multiple waterfalls to find a Gyaradosite.
Heracronite	Pokemon Y	Go to Santalune Forest via Route 2 and head straight up to find this Mega Stone.
Houndoominite	Pokemon Y	Go to Route 16 and look for two skaters going round and round a huge rock. There you’ll find a Houndoominite.
Kangaskhanite	Pokemon X and Y	Go to the Glittering Caves via Ambrett Town. Look for the first dead end at the first right upon entering and you’ll find a Kangaskhanite.
Manectite	Pokemon X	Go to Route 16 and look for two skaters going round and round a huge rock. There you’ll find a Manectite.
Mawilite	Pokemon X and Y	Go to the second floor of Shabboneau Castle in Camphrier Town to find this Mega Stone.
Medichamite	Pokemon X and Y	This Mega Stone can be found beside a well in Laverre City.
Pinsirite	Pokemon X	Go to Santalune Forest via Route 2 and head straight up to find a Pinsirite.
Scizorite	Pokemon X and Y	Go back to the Abomasnow you rescued in the Frost Tavern and behind it is the Scizorite.
Tyranitarite	Pokemon X	Go back to the Cyllage City gym and head to the second level to the right to find a Tyranitarite.

Event-Exclusive Mega Stone

Blazikenite

This Mega Stone cannot be obtained in the game. It is held by the event Torchic that is given for free.

In your game’s Main Menu, click Mystery Gift, then Receive Gift, then Yes, then Get Via Internet, and then Yes.

After that, go to any Pokemon Center and talk to the lady on the desk’s left and you can obtain your Torchic and Blazikenite.
