What You Need to Unlock the 8th Gym in Pokemon Clover
The first thing is that you need to beat all the previous 7 Gym Leaders.
When you have already beaten those 7 Gym Leaders, this means that you have already completed the specific events like Memes Incorporated, Mexican Border quest, and others.
By this point you would already have Surf, since you can’t access the 7th Gym Leader, anyway.
In case you used Fly to go back to Vitlya City thinking that you could fight the 8th Gym Leader, then this is what awaits you.
There will be a Team Karma Grunt blocking your path, so now you know the 8th Gym is locked. The Grunt will give you a clue about a boat, and this is where your quest to unlock the 8th Gym begins.
Head back to Outcast Island. Use Surf and travel west through the water until you find a big ship just on the left of Route 24. Enter the ship, and you’re in for a long event.
Navigating Inside the Ruse Cruise
Inside, simply make your way until you reach the room with arrow tiles on the floor. Before we proceed, it is important that you destroy these machines first (image below).
They aren’t necessary, but they can make your life a lot better when you destroy all of them on the same floor; then, the arrow tiles will be turned off.
In this room, you will need to go to the next floor. Follow the images below based on the number.
Basically, 1 is the first, 2 is the second, and so on, until you reach the next room without arrows. Upon continuing the path, you’ll have a battle with Leon.
On this next floor, once again, follow the arrows to get to your destination. Once again, don’t forget to destroy the machines in your path.
From here on out is where the area gets a bit confusing and frustrating. Ultimately, your goal is to destroy the machines to turn off the arrows. Head back down to the same floor where it started and head to the right side to get to the next rooms.
One of the rooms will lead you to the next fight against Lil’ Bro. It will take time, but once you beat Lil’ Bro, head outside.

This is where the final fight will take place against Team Karma Boss Kymmi, who is outside the boat.
Karma Boss Kymmi’s Pokemon Team

In order to start the fight, be sure to keep talking to her because she will not fight you until you annoy her.
This is a bit of a hard fight, and her Pokemon are well-rounded. You just have to beat her through grit and attrition.

Hopefully, the roster will give you an idea of your own counters. By the looks of it, having Dragon-type Pokemon isn’t that ideal since she has a good amount of Fairy-type arsenal on her.
Also, take into consideration the items that her Pokemon carry. Once she’s defeated, you can head back to Vitlya City. You’ll gain access to the 8th Gym, and you’re done.
In Closing
Knowing how to unlock the 8th Gym in Pokemon Clover is the easy part. The hard part is finishing the Ruse Cruise segment.
Even if it is just one section, the arrow puzzles can be a nightmare. Don’t forget that you have to undergo a ton of battles.
Don’t forget about the three boss fights against Leon, Lil’ Bro and Kymmi. You can always leave the boat, heal up, and get back at it again.
It is better to stock up on some items before you go in the first place.
